In September this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports increased by 13.2 percent month on month to 2,854 mt, down by 65 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports increased by 2.16 percent month on month to $2.84 million, down 55 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 68.6 percent to 23,905 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $25.7 million, down 52 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Italy ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 5,172 metric tons, down 49.5 percent year on year. Italy was followed by Belgium and China, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 4,536 metric tons and 4,298 metric tons respectively.
