According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 10,874 mt, falling 22.3 percent month on month and down 14.4 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $10.7 million, down 23.9 percent compared to May and falling 10.3 percent compared to the same month of 2017.
During the first half of the year, Turkey’s PPGI exports increased by 28.6 percent to 82,485 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $82.6 million, up 38.9 percent, both year on year.
The US was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the first half of the current year, with imports of 10,724 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, the US was followed by Greece and Romania, whose PPGI imports from Turkey amounted to 10,440 mt and 9,155 mt respectively.
