Turkey’s pig iron imports down 48.9 percent in January

In January this year, Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 93,300 mt, down 48.9 percent year on year and rising by two percent compared to December last year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The total value of Turkey's pig iron imports in the given month decreased by 43.2 percent year on year to $35.34 million, down by one percent compared to the previous month.

In January, Turkey imported 57,820 metric tons of pig iron from Russia, down 48.29 percent year on year. Russia ranked first among Turkey's pig iron import sources in the period in question, followed by Ukraine which supplied 27,310 mt, down 44.89 percent year on year.
