Turkey’s crude steel output increases by 2.8 percent in January-July

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in July this year increased by 7.3 percent month on month and was down by 2.3 percent year on year to 3.3 million mt.

In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces fell by six percent, while production by integrated plants increased by 6.6 percent, both year on year.

In the January-July period of this year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 2.8 percent to 22.2 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 3.5 percent to 15.3 million mt while production by integrated plants increased by 1.2 percent to 6.8 million mt, both year on year.

In the January-July period of this year, Turkey's billet output increased by 0.7 percent to 14.8 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 7.4 percent to 7.4 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
