Turkey’s crude steel output down 10.6 percent in January-October

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in October this year decreased by 1.7 percent month on month and by 15 percent year on year to 2.7 million mt. In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces fell by 18.5 percent, and production by integrated plants fell by 6.6 percent, both year on year.

In the January-October period, Turkish crude steel output fell to 28 million mt, down 10.6 percent year on year. In the same period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces declined by 12.8 percent to 19 million mt, while production by integrated plants decreased by 5.6 percent to 9 million mt, both year on year.

In the first ten months of this year, Turkey's billet output decreased by 17.3 percent to 17.2 million mt, while its slab output rose by 2.7 percent to 10.8 million mt, both compared to the corresponding period of last year.
