Turkey’s chrome ore exports rise in July

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 291,449 metric tons, rising 57.4 compared to the same month of 2011 and up 22.5 percent compared to June this year. Meanwhile, in July the revenue generated by Turkey's chrome ore exports totaled $55.3 million, increasing 25 percent compared to June this year and up 24.2 percent on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in the first half of 2012 Turkey's chrome ore exports increased by 11.2 percent to 1.36 million metric tons, while the revenue for these exports stood at $270 million, down by one percent, both compared to the same period of 2011.

In July this year, Turkey's chrome ore exports to China amounted to 272,031 mt, constituting 93.3 percent of Turkey's total chrome exports, and up 71.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

On the other hand, Turkey's nickel ore exports in July this year amounted to 19,650 mt, falling from the 71,950 mt recorded in the previous month, while the country's manganese ore exports in July this year reached 11,315 mt, rising compared to the 4,731 mt recorded in June.
