Turkey’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has announced that the environmental impact assessment (EIA) application made by Turkish steelmaker Bilecik Demir Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. for its melt shop and rolling mill capacity increase project in Bozüyük, Bilecik, has been examined and that the details of the project have been released for the public to express its views.
Within the scope of the project entailing an investment cost of TRY 95 million ($2.7 million), the company plans to increase its annual scrap purchasing from 267,000 mt to 434,400 mt, annual liquid steel capacity from 245,856 mt to 400,000 mt, and annual rolling mill capacity from 238,038 mt to 388,000 mt.
