Turkey’s AMDS – Rozak to enhance services in its new steel service and process centre by summer

At SteelOrbis Market Talks Meeting recently held in Bursa, ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions (AMDS) - ROZAK chief technical officer Dr. Kagan Yemez presented technical information of the company's latest steel service and processing investment, commissioned in the beginning of this year in Osmaniye, in southern Turkey.
 
Built on an area of 140,000 m², including 80,000 m² indoor area provides all sort of processing and manufacture of steel sheets, plates and beams.
 
As of early 2011, Osmaniye Steel Service and Processing Centre has started stocking and sales of steel sheets, plates and beams. The plant's de-colling machine has also been commissioned. Processing machines of structural steel sheet, plate and beam are still being installed.
 
Dr. Yemez stated that the plant is expected to start providing steel steel profile drilling, sawing, coping and marking services together with steel plate processing (oxygen and plasma) services within one or two months. The installation of shot blasting and painting machines will start by the end of summer.
 
The plant's construction had started in 2010 and now the plant with its location in Osmaniye, has an advantageous proximity to Turkey's Iskenderun Port, as well as to the Middle East.
 
Reaching a total sales volume of 720,000 mt in 2010, AMDS Turkey has been said to be targeting to reach an annual sales volume over one million mt.
