Turkey imposes import quota for steel wire

The Turkish Ministry of Economy has announced that it has imposed an import quota of 6,000 mt for steel wire imports. According to the statement, the producers who want to use the import quota should apply for an import license within 10 days after December 11 when the quota came into force.
 
The import license will be valid until June 30, 2016 and it is not possible to extend or increase the tonnage of the license.
 
The steel wire products which are subject to an import quota currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7217.10.50.00.12, 7217.10.50.00.13, 7217.10.90.00.00, 7217.20.50.00.12, 7217.20.50.00.13 and 7217.20.90.00.00.
