On January 13, Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) announced that in late December 2009 its large diameter (LD) pipe production at its subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant received DNV-OS-F101 subsea pipeline systems certification, which will allow it to participate in large-scale subsea pipeline projects.

Accordingly, the installation of the longitudinal LD welded line, part of TMK's strategic investment program, was carried out to meet the subsea requirements for tubular products used in the construction of such large-scale offshore pipeline projects as Nord Stream, South Stream and the Shtokman pipeline project.

"The state-of-the-art equipment installed at the plant has allowed TMK to successfully certify its production to national and international industry standards as well as qualify with a wide range of customers," reads the company's statement.
