Russia-based TMK, one of the world's leading oil and gas steel pipe producers, has announced that its Omani plant TMK Gulf International Pipe Industry (TMK GIPI) has received an order for the supply of steel pipes with three-layer polyethylene external and liquid epoxy internal coating for the Muscat Sohar Pipeline Project (MSPP). A first-of-its-kind in the Sultanate in partnership with Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic), the project will connect Orpic’s existing Mina al Fahal refinery with refineries in Sohar, Oman as well as the Jifnain Terminal.

The two-way, multi-product pipeline will be 290 kilometers long and will enable Orpic to eliminate its reliance on above-ground methods for transportation of oil products.
