Timken and USWA reach tentative agreement

A tentative four-year agreement has been reached between the Timken Co. and its union at its complex in Stark County, Ohio. The details of the agreement remain under wraps; however, both sides confirmed the union is unanimously recommending its members approve it. There is no indication that all 1500 jobs at the steel bearing plant will be saved. The proposed agreement would extend to 30 hourly workers at Timken’s steel tube mill in Wooster, Ohio, as well. A ratification meeting will take place on June 21.
