Thyssenkrupp to supply carbon-reduced steel to Knauf Interfere

German processing company Knauf Interfere Group has announced that its steel business and Germany-based steelmaker Thyssenkrupp have signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of carbon-reduced steel from this year.

In addition, Thyssenkrupp will also supply bluemint® Steel, produced via the direct reduction process using green hydrogen, from the end of 2026.

Bluemint® recycled reduces carbon emissions by around 64 percent compared to the conventional steelmaking process.
