UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that German steelmaker Thyssenkrupp has produced its first coil at its new reversing cold mill.

Supplied by Primetals Technologies and commissioned at ThyssenKrupp’s Bochum plant, the mill in question is capable of rolling particularly thin strips with a thickness down to 0.2 millimeters. It also features Hyper UCM technology, which allows the operators to influence the edges of the strip in a very flexible way.

Thyssenkrupp Steel wants to significantly strengthen its capabilities in high-strength steels and electromobility so we can differentiate ourselves even more consistently through the quality of our products,” Thyssenkrupp COO Heike Denecke-Arnold stated.
