According to Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group, in the first quarter this year its subsidiary Tangshan Iron and Steel Group (Tangsteel) exported 420,000 mt of finished steel products, including cold rolled galvanized steel plate and cold work hardened plate, worth RMB 23 million ($3.66 million) in sales revenue.
In the January-March period, 390,000 mt of the finished steel products exported by Tangsteel were supplied to existing customers, while at the same time the steel producer targeted new markets in Central and South America. So far this year, Tangsteel has achieved some success with customers in Ecuador, Honduras and Panama, exporting about 30,000 mt of finished steel products to these countries.
