Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs recently announced that carbon steel plate imported from China, Brazil, South Korea, India, Indonesia and Ukraine have caused “substantive damage” to the domestic steel industry and will thus ask the Ministry of Finance to decide whether to impose antidumping duty on the imports in question.

Zinc-coated steel and certain flat rolled products imported from China and South Korea were also found to have been dumped, by a trade investigation committee chaired by Taiwan’s vice economic affairs minister Wang Mei-hua.
