The European Commission (EC) has announced that it has imposed a definitive antidumping (AD) duty on organic coated steel plate imports originating from China.
The antidumping duty investigation regarding the abovementioned product was initiated in November 2011. The investigation covered the period from October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011. In September 2012, the EC imposed a provisional antidumping duty on the organic coated steel plate imports. The definitive antidumping duty will range between 5.9 percent and 26.1 percent.
Additionally, the EC has imposed a countervailing duty (CVD) on organic coated steel plate imports originating from China. The investigation was initiated in February 2012, following a complaint filed by the European Steel Association (EUROFER), for the period between October 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011. The countervailing duty against Chinese producers and exporters will range between 13.7 percent and 44.7 percent.
The product subject to antidumping and countervailing duties currently falls within CN codes ex 7210 70 80, ex 7212 40 80, ex 7225 99 00 and ex 7226 99 70.
