Thailand's Ministry of Commerce has decided to impose antidumping (AD) duty on certain hot rolled coils, hot rolled pickled and oiled coils and hot rolled plate from China and Malaysia. The antidumping duty margin on the products from China is 30.91 percent, while the AD duty for the products in question from Malaysia is as high as 42.51 percent, except for products from Malaysian flat steel producer Megasteel Sdn Bhd (Megasteel), which will be subject to an AD duty of 23.57 percent.

Some importers and users are exempted, including mills which import hot rolled coils to make steel products for export, mills approved by the Thai Board of Investment (BOI) and importers who import less than 1,000 mt per year for marine applications.  In addition, steel of higher quality than S45C and rolled coils with widths greater than 1,635 mm are also exempted.
