SMS Meer to re-equip Russia’s Electrostal Metal Works

It is reported that Electrostal Metal Works, the Russian producer of high-alloy steels and alloys, has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with German plantmaker SMS Meer for its technical re-equipment.
 
Accordingly, the first phase of Electrostal's re-equipment program includes the purchase and installation of a new high-speed press for production of special purpose forgings. The equipment is unique and will be installed for the first time in Russia. The new press is expected to be commissioned in 2011.
