Italy-based plantmaker Danieli Technologies has announced that Serbia-based Utva Silosi AD Kovin has selected its subsidiary Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. to supply a new electric resistance welded (ERW) tube production line, marking an investment aimed at expanding its manufacturing capabilities. The plant is currently in the design phase and is scheduled to start operations in the first half of 2027.
The new line will be installed at the company’s facility in Kovin, Serbia, and is designed to produce a wide range of welded tubes for various industrial applications.
According to the statement, the supplied ERW tube line will feature advanced technology to ensure high product quality and operational efficiency. The equipment package will include forming, welding, sizing, and finishing sections. The new ERW mill will produce tubes with outside diameters of up to 50 mm and maximum thickness of 3 mm. The production range will include structural tubes and high-precision products suitable for automotive applications. The line will operate at speeds exceeding 160 m/min and will be equipped with state-of-the-art automation systems, ensuring high productivity and consistent product quality.
The project is intended to enhance Utva Silosi AD Kovin’s production flexibility and allow the company to meet growing demand for welded tube products.
Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. will provide the engineering and supply of the line, reinforcing its presence in the global tube and pipe equipment market.
