In the January-October period this year, production and sales of passenger vehicles reached 20.731 million units and 20.664 million units, up 6.0 percent and 7.5 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In October, production and sales of passenger vehicles totaled 2.513 million units and 2.488 million units, up 7.6 percent and 11.4 percent year on year, respectively.
In the January-October period this year, production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 3.286 million units and 3.303 million units, up 22.1 percent and 19.8 percent year on year, respectively.
In October, production and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 378,000 units and 365,000 units, up 42.7 percent and 33.4 percent year on year, respectively.
In the first ten months this year, China’s vehicle export volume totaled 3.922 million units, up 59.7 percent year on year.
In addition, in October, China’s vehicle export volume amounted to 488,000 units, up 9.8 percent month on month, while increasing by 44.2 percent year on year.
Xu Haidong, deputy chief engineer of CAAM, stated, “China’s vehicle export volume will likely exceed 4.5 million units this year.”
Chen Shihua, vice-secretary general of CAAM, stated, “China’s vehicle sales will indicate a rising trend in the last two months this year, which will be consistent with previous years.”
