SAIL’s Rourkela steel mill achieves record hot metal output on March 4

Indian state-run steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) achieved its highest ever single-day hot metal production of 16,201 mt on March 4, a company statement said on Tuesday, March 7.

According to the company, the previous highest single-day output of 16,167 mt had been achieved on March 29, 2022.

It said that the highest single-day output was achieved due to the integrated approach of the operations of the sintering plant, the raw material handling plant, the coke ovens, the captive power plant and the oxygen plant.
