In September this year, Russia increased its steel pipe output by 30.2 percent year on year and by 9.8 percent compared to August to 833,000 mt. Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, the country's steel pipe production went up by 38 percent year on year to 6.5 million mt.
Specifically, in September Russian pipemakers produced 228,000 mt of seamless pipes - up 25.7 percent year on year and up 12.1 percent month on month. In January-September this year the production of seamless pipes increased by 28.1 percent year on year.
The output of welded pipes, excluding electric-welded pipes, amounted to 21,800 mt in September - down 15.2 percent year on year, but up 83.6 percent month on month. The total output of this product in the first nine months decreased by eight percent year on year.
In September this year, Russian pipemakers also produced 289,000 mt of electric-welded large diameter (LD) pipes - up 39.2 percent year on year and 4.2 percent month on month, with the January-September output seeing an increase of 67.1 percent year on year.
Also in September, pipe producers manufactured 292,000 mt of electric-welded pipes, excluding LD pipes - up 30.3 percent year on year and increasing by 9.8 percent month on month. In January-September the output of this product increased by 26.8 percent year on year.
