Russia’s Metalloinvest posts increase in net income for H1

In its financial results according to international financial reporting standards (IFRS) for the first half of 2012, Russia-based leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer Metalloinvest increased its net income to $1.312 billion compared to $975.4 million in the same period of last year. In the January-June period of this year, the company's consolidated revenues decreased by 7.6 percent compared to the second half of 2011 and down 13.13 percent year on year to $4.458 billion.
 
Metalloinvest's EBITDA decreased by 17 percent year on year to $1.642 billion in H1 2012, while its EBITDA margin, which had been 39 percent in H1 2011, declined to 36.8 percent in H1 2012.
