According to preliminary data issued by Russian Railways (RZhD), in the first seven months of 2010 steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by 18.2 percent to 41.7 million mt, shipments of iron ore and manganese ore went up by 9.7 percent to 58.2 million mt, shipments of ferrous scrap rose by 39.6 percent to about 11 million mt, while shipments of coke increased by 37.3 percent to more than 7.4 million mt, all compared to the same period last year.
In July this year, as compared to the same month last year, steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by 6.5 percent, shipments of ferrous scrap went up by 15 percent, while shipments of coke dropped by 2.7 percent.
In January-July 2010, total shipments on Russia's railways increased by 11.3 percent year on year to 688.1 million mt.
