Russian Railways: Steel product shipments up 13 percent in Jan-Nov

According to preliminary data issued by Russian Railways (RZhD), in the first 11 months of 2010 steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by 13 percent to 66.235 million mt, shipments of iron ore and manganese ore went up by seven percent to 93.395 million mt, while shipments of ferrous scrap rose by 27.1 percent to 19.263 million mt, all compared to the same period last year.

In November this year, as compared to the same month last year, steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by 10 percent, shipments of ferrous scrap went up by 36.8 percent, while shipments of  iron ore and manganese ore rose by 6.5 percent.

In January-November 2010, total shipments on Russia's railways increased by 9.2 percent year on year to 1.105 billion mt.
