Russian Railways: Steel product shipments up 9.1 percent in Q1

According to the preliminary data issued by Russian Railways (RZhD), in Q1 2011 steel product shipments on Russia's railways increased by 9.1 percent to 19 million mt, shipments of iron ore and manganese ore went up by 8.1 percent to 26 million mt, shipments of ferrous scrap increased by 6.8 percent to 3.5 million mt, while shipments of coke went up by 3.4 percent to 3.2 million mt, all compared to January-March 2010.
 
In the first three months of 2011, total shipments on Russia's railways increased by 5.5 percent year on year to 294.6 million mt.
