Russian Railways: Steel product shipments up 12.4 percent in 2010

According to the preliminary data issued by Russian Railways (RZhD), on Russia's railways in 2010 steel product shipments increased by 12.4 percent to 72.767 million mt, shipments of iron ore and manganese ore went up by 6.8 percent to 101.908 million mt, shipments of ferrous scrap rose by 26.5 percent to 20.931 million mt, while shipments of coke went up by 19.8 percent to 12.578 million mt, all compared to 2009.

In 2010, total shipments on Russia's railways increased by 8.8 percent year on year to about 1.206 billion mt.
