Russian quota utilization for Ukraine

According to the information issued by the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, up to April 1, 2010, Ukraine utilized 25.38 percent of its annual quota for rebar exports to Russia and 94.37 percent of its yearly quota for cold rolled steel exports to the same destination, supplying a total of 101,528 metric tons and 198,182 metric tons respectively.

From November 1, 2009 to February 28 this year, Ukraine did not deliver any cold rolled steel products to Russia. Meanwhile, in March the country's cold rolled steel exports to Russia amounted to 95,562 mt, while its rebar exports to the same destination totaled 51,627 mt.

According to the agreement between Russia and Ukraine, the 2010 annual quota for Ukraine regarding rebar exports to Russia is 400,000 metric tons - up from 363,000 metric tons in 2009. The quota is for the 12 months from January 1 to December 31, 2010.

Meanwhile, also according to the agreement signed between the countries, Ukraine's yearly quota for cold rolled exports to Russia stands at 210,000 metric tons for the 12 months from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.
