Prices in Q3 from Taiwan’s CSC to go up

Taiwan is now following the trend that most steelmakers have in recent months with price increases from its integrated steel producer, China Steel Corporation (CSC). The price hikes, effective in Q3 will cover the domestic base price on all the firm's steel products. CSC announced its Q3 price increases on May 22 in Taiwanese currency as follows: HR/CR: Increase from NT$1,200/t to NT$12,083/t and NT$14,464/t WR: Increase of NT$820 to NT$11,820 (medium/high carbon) Increase of NT$11,870 (low carbon) Increase of NT$12,170 (cold-heading) Increase of NT$12,470 (low alloy) Electro-galvanized sheet: NT$17,245 Non-grained oriented silicon sheet: NT$16,600 A36/SS400 steel plates: NT$10,935 Lloyds/ship building plates: NT$11,100 Other plates: NT$11,400
