The Peruvian labor ministry is reportedly trying to convince the workers of the country’s only iron ore producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, to resume works following a strike initiated last week, according to a media report from La Republica.

Workers asking for better wages set the strike for an indefinite period of time.

According to the media report, works could resume on Tuesday if a meeting involving the country’s labor ministry, Shougang Hierro Peru, and representatives of a local union goes well.

A union’s representative said he managed to set up a meeting with the country’s labor minister.
