Peruvian iron ore output declines in February

Iron ore output at Shougang Hierro Peru, the nation’s sole producer, declined 3.5 percent in February, year-on-year, according to information released by the nation’s mining ministry on Tuesday.

Peruvian iron ore production in the second month of the year declined to 636,212 mt, from 659,292 mt in the same period of 2015. When compared to January’s output, iron ore production decreased 8.6 percent, month-on-month.

As for the cumulative period of January to February, Peruvian iron ore output diminished 4.3 percent, year-on-year, to 1.33 million mt.
