Peruvian iron ore export prices up in August

Peruvian iron ore export prices in August rose 116.5 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by local central bank, BCRP.

BCRP said Peruvian iron ore export prices in August reached $69.5/mt FOB, up from $32.1/mt FOB in August 2018.

Despite the year-on-year increase, BCRP said Peruvian iron ore export prices in August fell from $83.7/mt FOB in July 2019.

According to government data, Peruvian iron ore export volumes in August totaled 1.7 million mt, the highest export volume thus far in the year, up from 1.3 million mt in July 2019, and from 900,000 mt in August 2018.
