Peruvian iron ore export prices rise in October

Peruvian iron ore export prices in October rose to $39/mt FOB from $38.3/mt FOB in October 2017, according to the local central bank (BCRP). Peruvian iron ore export prices grew 21.8 percent, month-on-month, from $32/mt FOB in September this year.

According to government data, Peruvian iron ore export volumes in October totaled 900,000 mt, up from 200,000 mt in October 2017, but down from 1.3 million mt in September this year.

According to BCRP’s data, Peruvian iron ore export prices reached a peak price for the year in October, after two months of stability at a price range of $32-32.1/mt FOB.
