Peruvian iron ore export prices down in January

Peruvian iron ore export prices in the first month of the year dropped nearly 60 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the country’s central bank, BCRP.

Government data indicated Peruvian iron ore export prices in January fell to $30.2/mt from $48.1/mt in the same month of the year prior.

Peruvian iron ore export prices in January decreased from $33.7/mt when compared to December 2017, BCRP’s data showed.

Peruvian iron ore export volumes in January reached 1.6 million mt, up from 1.2 million in December, and up from 900,000 mt in January 2017.
