Peruvian iron ore export prices decline 13.3 percent in February

Peruvian iron ore prices in February declined 13.3 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s central bank, BCRP.

Government data said local iron ore export prices fell to $37.7/mt in February this year from $43.5/mt in the same month of the year prior.

Despite the year-on-year decline, Peruvian iron ore export prices rose 21.2 percent in February, month-on-month, from $31.1/mt in January this year.

Peruvian iron ore export volumes in February reached 1.4 million mt, up from 400,000 mt in February 2017, but down from 1.5 million mt in January this year.
