A delegation from Karachi-based Pakistani long steel producer Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) is on a four-day visit to Iran to discuss iron ore supplies from the country to support the production of the Pakistani steelmaker, according to media reports.

The Pakistan Steel Mills officials have planned to meet five Iranian companies to discuss barter deal options under which PSM will supply metallurgical coke in return for Iranian iron ore.

The company is facing difficulties in terms of importing iron ore from Australia, Canada, and Brazil due to longer delivery times with high freight rates.
