OMK’s foundry-rolling complex sees nine percent rise in HRC output in H1

Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has stated that in June of the current year its foundry-rolling complex produced 97,000 mt of hot rolled coil (HRC), up 15 percent year on year. Also in the given month, the foundry-rolling complex of OMK produced 21,000 mt of steel sheets and 22,500 mt of steel strips. In June this year, the foundry-rolling complex of OMK shipped a total of 88,000 mt of steel products.

In the January-June period of the current year, the OMK complex produced 587,000 mt of hot rolled coils, up nine percent compared to the same period last year, while it also produced 119,000 mt of steel sheets and 111,000 mt of steel strips. In the given period, the complex shipped 591,000 mt of hot rolled coil, sheet and strip, up 13 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, OMK subsidiary Trubodetal has also announced its production results for June and for the first half of the current year.

Accordingly, in January-June Trubodetal's steel product output reached 12,126 mt, down 1.8 percent compared to January-June 2011. In June alone, Trubodetal produced 1,722 mt of steel products, down 15 percent year on year. Trubodetal's products include connections for line pipes, pipe bends and harnesses.
