OMK has announced that in February this year its foundry and rolling facility produced 83,000 mt of hot rolled coils - up 15 percent year on year, including 16,000 mt of steel sheets, and 22,000 mt of steel strips. In the first two months of 2011,
OMK's foundry and rolling facility produced 166,000 mt of hot rolled coils, 37,000 mt of steel sheets, and 42,000 mt of steel strips.
OMK's deliveries for February this year to the main consumers for the products of its foundry and rolling facility, namely its subsidiaries Vyksa Steel Works and Almetyevsk
Pipe Plant, amounted to 77,000 mt - up 20.4 percent year on year. In 2010, 87 percent of Vyksa's small and medium diameter pipes were produced from steel from
OMK's foundry and rolling facility. In 2011, this figure is planned to be increased to 100 percent.
In addition, in 2011
OMK's foundry and rolling facility plans to increase its output of steels for
pipe manufacturing, as well as to expand its product range and start the
production of thin hot rolled steels, such as coils and sheets, which will also be used in other industries, including construction and shipbuilding.
