Russia-based leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer Metalloinvest has announced that its subsidiary Oskol Metallurgical Plant (OEMK) has successfully passed a scheduled audit of its environmental management system (EMS), carried out by the leading international certification body DNV GL. The aim of the annual check is to assess the level of compliance of OEMK’s environmental management system with the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 international standard.

The audit involved checks of several divisions of OEMK, including the environmental management department, the electric arc furnace shop, rolling mill No. 1, as well as the automotive, mechanical repair and urban development departments.

OEMK’s environmental management system was certified for the first time in 2003.
