Odisha opens bidding for two iron ore mines for captive mining

The government of the eastern Indian state of Odisha has opened the bidding process for two iron ore mines via e-auction for captive mining by end-users, a government official said on Monday, February 26.

The official said that the two iron ore blocks have estimated reserves of 35.83 million mt and 44.04 million mt respectively. As per the notice inviting tenders, documents to submit the bids will be issued up to April 9 and the deadline for submission of bids has been set for April 16, he added.

As per requirement of the federal Ministry of Mines, the Odisha government has completed the mandatory G2 level of exploration of both of the iron ore blocks, the official said.
