NMDC’s iron ore output down 19 percent in April

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in April, the first month of the financial year 2018-19, it produced 2.41 million mt of iron ore, decreasing by 19 percent, while its iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 2.22 million mt, down 37.6 percent, both year on year.

During the given month, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 840,000 mt, down 16 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines declined by 20.7 percent to 1.57 million mt, both year on year.
