NLMK targets steel product sales volume of 18 million mt in 2022

Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced its strategy plan for 2022, covering operational efficiency, low-cost production, sales portfolio and sustainability and safety.

According to the company statement, by 2022 NLMK aims to increase its steel output at its Lipetsk site by one million metric tons to 14.2 million metric tons per year. NLMK also aims to be self-sufficient in its production processes, by increasing its annual iron ore concentrate output by 2.6 million metric tons to 20 million metric tons and its annual pellet output by 1.3 million metric tons to eight million metric tons, while raising its energy self-sufficiency from 60 percent to 95 percent at its Stoilensky site.

Furthermore, NLMK plans to increase its steel product sales to 18 million metric tons by 2022, while increasing the production and sales of premium products by 1.7 million metric tons. The company is also aiming to reduce specific emissions and injury to the environment caused by its production processes.
