Russian steelmaker NLMK Group has announced that it has completed the installation of a gas cleaning unit on its newly commissioned ladle furnace at its Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works.

Accordingly, the equipment will capture 99.9 percent of the dust emitted by the ladle furnace. As a result, the residual dust in the air following the cleaning will not exceed 5 mg per cubic meter.

Being Russia’s largest steelmaker, NLMK has a steel production capacity of 14.3 million mt per year.
