NLMK achieves record steel output at Lipetsk site in 2014

Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that steel output in 2014 at Novolipetsk, NLMK Group’s main production site located in Lipetsk, reached 12.56 million mt, the highest figure in the 80 years of the plant’s history. The record performance was achieved at all stages of production at Novolipetsk.

Steelmaking capacities were running at 100 percent, ensuring output during 2014 increased by 1.3 percent year on year. An all-time quarterly record was set in the fourth quarter when the plant produced 3.4 million mt of steel, a 6.4 percent year-on-year increase.

Over the previous years, the increase in the plant’s output was ensured by investment in the expansion and modernization of capacities. In the last 14 years, NLMK has successfully implemented a technical upgrade program, renovating technologies and increasing production capacities by over 50 percent.
