In the January-June period this year, China’s excavator output amounted to 137,741 units, down 18 percent year on year, as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In June alone, China’s excavator output came to 20,364 units, down 15.3 percent, while rising by 22.6 percent month on month.

Demand for Chinese excavators is expected to be slack in 2023, especially in the Chinese domestic market, which is expected to result in a year-on-year decline of 14 percent in overall Chinese excavator sales, though excavator sales to the export markets are anticipated to rise by 10-15 percent year on year, as forecast by the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA).
