NBS: China’s crude steel output up 6.4 percent in January-October

In the January-October period of the current year, China produced 645.06 million mt of pig iron, up 1.7 percent year on year, while also producing 782.46 million mt of crude steel and 918.44 million mt of finished steel, rising by 6.4 percent and 7.8 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on November 14.

In October alone, China produced 67.74 million mt of pig iron, up 7.3 percent year on year, while also producing 82.55 million mt of crude steel and 98.02 million mt of finished steel, increasing by 9.1 percent and 11.5 percent year on year, respectively.
