In September this year, China produced 59.60 million mt of pig iron, remaining stable year on year, while it produced 71.83 million mt of crude steel, increasing by 5.3 percent, and 93.56 million mt of finished steel, down 1.8 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on October 19.
In the January-September period of the current year, China produced 546.14 million mt of pig iron, 638.73 million mt of crude steel and 829.86 million mt of finished steel, up 3.2 percent, 6.3 percent and 1.2 percent year on year, respectively.
