Effective Thursday March 1, two of the US' largest steel service center groups--Namasco and Macsteel---will begin operating under a new brand, Kloeckner Metals, as they prepare to finalize the merger of the two companies later this year. In January 2011, German service center Klöeckner & Co SE announced plans to acquire Macsteel.

Kloeckner said that Bill Partalis will oversee the operational side of the US activities as the CEO of Kloeckner Metals US, in addition to his duties as a member of the management board of Kloeckner & CO SE.

Together, Macsteel and Namasco, headquartered in Roswell, Georgia, combine to form the third largest metals distributor in North America, with 57 points of distribution.
