Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, has started a sunset review over the imports of steel sheet plate from China.
The products subject to the sunset review fall under HTS codes 7208.51.01, 7208.51.02, 7208.51.03, 7208.52.01, 7225.40.01 and 7225.40.02.
SE said the review period goes from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019, while the analysis period starts on July 1, 2014, and ends on June 30, 2019.
The sunset review follows a request from local steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) on September 5, 2019.
SE imposed on October 14, 2014, an antidumping (AD) duty of 33.98 percent was levied against imports of steel sheet plate from China for a five-year period.
